Gorge is a design and engineering led-business and it is this that enables it to undertake very technical and complex constructional engineering projects. With nearly 30 years experience, across all market sectors and overcoming all-types of engineering challenges, it has amassed a wealth of knowledge to assist clients deliver the most demanding of projects to Execution Class 3.

Our in-house design team can assist with D&B enquiries, steelwork design, bespoke fabrication, value engineering, permanent and temporary works, lifting plans, concrete and decking design including sub & super structure design (such as roof and wall cladding systems). Gorge are primarily contracted to complete steel-to-steel connection design, in which it has a depth of domain expertise using industry leading software and carrying Professional Indemnity insurance of £5 million.

Gorge’s in-house detailers use market leading software to create 3D models, and steelwork general arrangement drawings for customer approval. Our detailing team is a key part of our design team and are involved across the full project life cycle from initiation to completion.

At the beginning of every project Gorge put together the project structure, appointed team and an experienced contract manager to drive the project through from initiation to completion seamlessly.

Through our many years of experience we have established the team, network, business processes and platforms to ensure seamless delivery through the project life cycle – by tracking and managing drawings, customer approvals, sub-contract orders, material procurement, manufacturing QC & sign offs, logistics, right up to site hand over.

Established supply chain network built over 25 years means Gorge has access to the stock, the best rates and scale to deliver projects of any size or complexity.

A healthy supply chain, good payment policies and a partnership approach to procurement has enabled the business to add even more customer value over the last 20+ years via using a core Qualified Supplier Network.

With a skilled workforce, that can undertake any type of steel fabrication, that is certified to ISO 9001, and can produce up 100 tonnes per week.

All steelwork is UKCA Certified up to EXECUTION CLASS 3 and in accordance with NSSS tolerances.

Gorge offers a full painting capability for its steelwork allowing it to meet the most demanding of specifications and turnaround times.

This includes shot blasting, primer finishes (all types of epoxy finishes), galvanising and on-site and off-site Intumescent fire protection.



Gorge have a vast experience in steel construction across the UK, covering all sectors, exceeding customer objectives by erecting safely, on-time and within budgets.

Its specialist erectors work closely and collaboratively with the design and contract management teams, always maintaining at least a working SSSTS working supervisor on-site and undertaking rigorous on-site quality and audit control checks of erected steels and connections. We are very proud to say that we have never had a major incident over the last 25 years.
